YouTube’s Facebook Connect Integration: This Is What Ubiquity Looks Like

This is what ubiquity looks like:

youtube-fb2And that goes for both YouTube and Facebook.

The online video juggernaut has just linked up with the king kong of social networks and their increasingly popular Facebook Connect integration. That change means content providers can automatically post links to their newly uploaded videos directly to Facebook (as well as Twitter and Google Reader).

What this means functionally:

  • Easier to share your videos with friends, fans, and followers
  • More YouTube status updates in Facebook news feeds sending users to your content
  • More traffic from YouTube to Facebook and Facebook to YouTube

What it means in the grand scheme of things:

YouTube and Facebook are further solidifying their stronghold on their respective markets.  Facebook digs deeper every day on establishing its brand as the keeper of your online identity.  YouTube continues to establish itself as synonomous with online video.  An incredble win for both, and just a sign of things to come.
