Viral Video Ping-Pong XV: Living with First-Person Shooter Disease

“Viral Video Ping-Pong” - a weekly series on the bigMETHOD blog in which Greg and John attempt to outdo one another with the posting of an incredible low-budget clip.

I used to play a good number of video games. Growing up in Minnesota and being an extremely active athlete my whole life there was a need, especially in the dead of winter, to sit down and just hang out with some friends. Video games, especially first person shooter’s, usually topped the list of choices and so began my love to pwn.

This video is another in a line of great “technology brought to real life” shorts that have popped up across the web over the past few years: MySpace the Movie, Facebook In Reality, Twitter Whore

“The Times They Are A-Changin”. People will always desire a high end experience for certain video content. But that experience comes with a high price tag and is not something that just anyone can create. There is a new generation of content producers who have the chance to gain an astounding level of attention through a system that anyone with a passion can afford - social media.

The above video was probably concepted and created with very little expectation for notoriety. It was made by friends for friends. Because of this it has a genuine passion and found it’s own way to millions of new people, new friends, and more than likely people with deep pockets looking for new talent.
