Twitter has become the latest online phenomenon. Twitter has not only become a popular medium of communication within the mainstream culture, but it has also become a very popular social networking tool for Latinos. Trendsetting Latinos who use Twitter have coined the term “Twittero” to describe themselves. Taking advantage of the opportunity being presented Matt Reyes a very active Twittero decided to create the social network Twitteros.net which is a social network composed of influential Latinos who use Twitter. By having access to a social network such as Twitteros.net approaching Latino trendsetters who use Twitter, blogs and other social networks has becoming increasingly easier for social media marketers.

Twitteros can become very valuable assets to social media marketers. As of now many brands that are targeted at Latinos do not utilize social media marketing. By showing Latino brands that there is an audience out there for them and that there are already Latino trendsetters in this space, marketers can rapidly gain access to the Latino audience.
