The FCC Promotes Net Neutrality: OpenInternet.gov

There are major changes that happen to the way you think as you get older.  Things that meant the world to you are easily cast aside and things that you never thought you would be deeply interested in or willing to invest yourself in become the cornerstone of what defines you.

I love music, but I used to LOVE  music.  It used to define and shape my style and social interactions, and trust me, there were growing pains.  Now, there is less thought put into the lifestyle / politics of the bands I listen to and instead the music I love is just a part of who I am.

The Internet is getting older.  It has gone through and continues to deal with more than its fair share of growing pains.  Many of these things, the things that used to define the Internet’s value - online banner advertising, email mailing lists, website page views - are slowly becoming obsolete. For individuals and companies who make money via the internet to focus on those things as revenue streams results in clutter for users and takes away from the ability for everyone to freely enjoy its use (just like caring too much about who is in a band and what they are doing takes away from the ability to just enjoy the music because it is good music).

Slowly the powers that be are understanding the value of the internet as a world wide resource and hopefully this resource will be free for all to use without influence from those who stand to profit from its existance.
