The Death of Terrestrial TV: Part 1080

Clearly no, we haven’t written over a thousand posts on the pending doom of terrestrial television.  It does feel that way though.

This week it’s another strong development from the fine folks at YouTube.  As of Thursday, 1080p Hi-Def video is now available on the world’s largest video portal and second most popular search engine. Here is an overview from Rizal Sadeli in the UK:

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

To see the new quality in action simply hit YouTube and search for 1080p. You’ll find an assortment of demonstrations, trailers, and additional footage showing off the latest and greatest.

For content creators - take a note. This is the new upload standard.

For television producers - take a note. This is trouble.
