Nature still does it better than we do

I read a few months ago about scientists studying whales flippers to advance either wing technology on airplanes or boat propulsion… Here is a link so you can make sure I am not making this up. (It was airplanes.)

It makes sense that we, even with computers and smarts, haven’t unlocked every aspect of the efficiencies created through evolution. Here is another example…

Wading bird travels 7,000 miles nonstop to break flying record.

I get excited when I read stuff like this because it is humbling to think that this little bird can do so much, something humans need more of, and intriguing because there has to be a reason as to why. I can’t wait to see how are lives are advanced because someone spent the time to study these birds.

Now take these scientists who came up with this study, pursued the grant money needed, went through the research to provide analysis… Now apply that line of thought to a start-up company… I am not saying it is apples to apples, but I am saying some people in this world notice how things influence other things and try to discover what those influences are.

A great start-up, like a great scientific discovery, starts when someone has the realization that an idea could change the way we live.

Final thought: I have seen this type of bird before. I have seen many different birds in my life. Currently there is this blue bird that lives near my house who likes to fly all the way inside and stare at me while perched on my couch. I can’t think of a time when I have seen a bird that looked tired. When these birds landed, what did they all do next? If the people we can compare these birds to in the business world are the example we have for comparison, I bet they started thinking about their next flight. These types get a kick out of the challenge.
