Car Talk: WebCrawler

John and I live a stones throw from each other. It is rare that we don’t bike or drive to and from work together. This morning, since I had an issue with my bike, I drove and picked John up at his place. As usual in the morning I was listening to NPR and we heard an ad that I had already read about on Mashable the other day: Yahoo Sets Out to Prove that Advertising Search Engines Doesn’t Work.

That title might be a little confusing since the article is about how advertising your search engine is frivolous. After hearing the ad John and I had a good laugh thinking back to the different search engines that came and went as we grew up with the internet. We also agreed on the same point that Adam mentioned in his article: unless you have a new feature or major advancement in technology that makes the users experience better there is no point in advertising a web browser.

Using Yahoo’s game plan John suggested WebCrawler launch an ad campaign.
